How to configure your API keys

Step-by-step guide to generate your OpenAI and OpenRouter API keys and start using TweetFast with AI.

Create an OpenAI account

  • •Go to platform.openai.com
  • •Click on 'Sign up' and create your account
  • •Verify your email and connect

Add a payment method

  • •Go to 'Settings' → 'Billing'
  • •Add a credit card (required even for free usage)
  • •Set a spending limit (ex: 10$/month)

Generate the API key

  • •Go to 'API Keys' in the left menu
  • •Click on 'Create new secret key'
  • •Give a name to your key (ex: 'TweetFast')
  • •⚠️ Copy and save immediately the key (it won't be visible again)

Create an OpenRouter account

  • •Go to openrouter.ai
  • •Click on 'Sign up' at the top right
  • •Create your account with Google or email

Add credits

  • •Go to your dashboard after connection
  • •Click on 'Credits' in the menu
  • •Buy credits (minimum 5$)

Generate the API key

  • •Go to 'Keys' in the left menu
  • •Click on 'Create Key'
  • •Give a name to your key (ex: 'TweetFast')

  • •Click on 'Sign up' and create your account

Choose a plan

  • •Go to 'API Keys' in the left menu
  • •Click on 'Choose a plan'
  • •You can choose the 'Experiment' plan which is totally free (max 1 request per second) or more advanced plans

Generate the API key

Install the TweetFast extension from the Chrome Web Store

Click on the TweetFast icon at the top right of the page

Paste your API key in the appropriate field, and choose the model you want to use
